A Hidden Hint Before the Announcement

Before confirming the listing, Gemini shared a cryptic message on X that highlighted the letters “R, L, U, S, D.” The XRP community quickly linked it to RLUSD. While Gemini hasn’t confirmed the reference, the listing is now official.

RLUSD Gains Exchange Support

Before Gemini's listing, RLUSD was already available on several platforms including Uphold, Moonpay, B2C2, Keyrock, Coinmena, Archax, Bitso, JST Digital, Independent Reserve, Bullish, MB, Zero Hash, Revolut, and Bitstamp.

These platforms offer services such as trading, payments, and institutional financial operations. With Gemini joining the list, RLUSD now reaches a wider audience and supports more use cases like stablecoin custody, cross-border transfers, and crypto-to-fiat conversions.

Ripple Donates $25M in RLUSD to U.S. Schools

On May 5, 2025, Ripple donated $25 million in RLUSD to U.S. public schools. The funds will go through DonorsChoose and Teach For America to support classrooms with supplies and technology. The initiative promotes financial literacy and equal access to education.

Institutional Use of RLUSD Expands

RLUSD is now integrated into Ripple Payments to improve cross-border transactions. Ripple also acquired prime brokerage firm Hidden Road for $1.25 billion. RLUSD will be used as collateral in its institutional services.
