Japanese investment firm Metaplanet has bought 330 more Bitcoins, spending $28.2 million on the latest purchase. This brings the company’s total Bitcoin holdings to 4,855 BTC, getting close to the 5,000 BTC milestone.
The news was shared on social media by Metaplanet’s CEO, Simon Gerovich, in a post on X.
Price Per Bitcoin and Total Value
According to Gerovich, the company paid an average price of $85,605 per Bitcoin in this recent transaction. With the new addition, the total value of Metaplanet’s Bitcoin stash is now estimated at close to $500 million.

Impressive Year-To-Date Performance
Since the beginning of 2025, Metaplanet has been on a buying spree, consistently increasing its BTC holdings. As a result, the company claims to have achieved a 119.3% year-to-date (YTD) return on its Bitcoin investments.
Gerovich stated,
“Metaplanet has acquired 330 BTC for $28.2 million at $85,605 per Bitcoin and has achieved BTC Yield of 119.3% YTD 2025.”
